Series Review: Corps Security 1-5 by Harper Sloan

Review

It is not very often that I read through a series one after the other. One, because books I read don’t have their sequel out, so I sit in the purgatory known as “cliffhanger”. Two, because I just need a breather between books, especially if it is a series of stand-alones.

So color me surprised when I realized that after Axel, I had not gone back to read the rest of the series years after. Shame on me. Shame. So I reread Axel and snowballed to all the other men that make up Corps Security.

This series has some serious alpha vibes rolling off of it. Who doesn’t love a hot alpha? No one.. that is the answer.

Axel and Izzy’s story was heartbreaking. Axel an orphan leaves to join the marines right after highschool, leaving behind the love of his life Izzy and everything snowballs into a series of unfortunate events that keep them apart. Fast forward years to where the book picks up and you have one amazing read.

Then there is Cage, everyone’s brother. He is the real deal. Genuine, fiercely loyal, protective… ALPHA.. Who more for him to find love with than someone with the same values?

Beck and Dee’s story was the most surprising for me. When I started reading it I thought… finally we get to hear their story, but it completely goes in the opposite direction from what I thought and I was completely blown away. This book was a tough read for me. I am already invested in the boys and things happened in this series that had me reeling. My emotions were all over the place, I was pissed, sad, heartbroken, happy. Out of all the books, I think this one hit home the hardest.

Coopers story in the beginning is completely different when you finally get to this book. It was such a heartbreakingly beautiful journey.

Locke. When I read Axel I was very excited to get to read Locke’s story. Apparently Harper Sloan knew this and he was the last in the series. And boy was it worth it. You see his story unravel in all parts of the book. Then you open this and everything you were wondering falls into place. To see where they started and where they are now… *sigh* it was beautiful.

As per the usual, I try to stay as vague as possible. I’m hoping it doesn’t sound like a pile of word mush. The books deserve to be read without spoilers. They are intense, passionate, funny and tug at the heart strings.

If you are into alpha males, strong women, tortured heroes, second chance romance, love after loss, lifetime love, sarcastic and witty banter IT IS ALL HERE.

You will not be disappointed when you start this series. I’m so happy I finished it.
